In early February, our students went to the fifth EGIMUN (Egypt Model United Nations) conference to once again try their hand at being international delegates. This year's conference was held in the picturesque town of El Gouna. The event was attended by 400 participants from different countries.
As the event suggests, the guys discussed pressing socio-political issues and made their resolutions at the debates. In their free time, they played volleyball, tug-of-war and swam in the sea. They made friends and gained useful inter-ethnic contacts.
In addition, the students took part in volunteer activities dedicated to nature protection. This year they cleaned the beach from environmental pollution and collected almost 870 kilograms of garbage! The guys saw with their own eyes the result of collective actions and felt proud of the great contribution they made to the preservation of the environment.
The students share such impressions:
“The trip to Egypt was amazing! We were never bored at EGIMUN: there was a whole team there to keep the delegates entertained! We also visited many stores where we could buy everything from sweets to stationery!”
Kirill
“I was very impressed with Egypt! This country has beautiful streets and sand dunes along the roads. But there is a disadvantage - dirty beaches. On one of them, my delegates and I collected 870 kilograms of garbage! As for the conference, it inspired me a lot! I learned how to properly draft resolutions. The chairmen of the committee were kind and helped us in everything!”
Egor
“I really enjoyed the Model United Nations program trip. It is a perfect experience for those who want to learn how to clearly articulate thoughts in public. The staff were friendly and happy with the delegates' successes. I highly recommended everyone to attend MUN in Egypt. Just give it a try and you will see how you will get better and better with each conference!”
Makar
“The trip to EGIMUN exceeded my expectations by 101 percent! I made a lot of new friends from Egypt, whom I will probably see again. At the conference, we taught each other languages: me - Russian, me - Egyptian. The debates themselves impressed me too! The organization was at a fantastic level, all the teams worked great! I'm looking forward to coming next year!”

Ioana, our Romanian Year 12 student at CIS Skolkovo, got a unique opportunity this year to go to Korea for MUN (Model United Nations), a large—scale event where guys from different countries play the role of UN delegates and strive to solve acute social problems. This conference is hosted by Yale University and is needed to awaken civic engagement in schoolchildren from all over the world. After all, the future of the planet belongs to the younger generation!

The colors of the rainbow are part of the basic lexicon. Try spending an entire day without naming colors, and you'll see for yourself how hard it is to do without them.
