On the first day of activities on the England History Trip the children left London early morning and arrived in Headingham Castle a short while later.
At Headingham Castle they travelled back to medieval times. The children had lots of fun exploring the castle and its grounds but the highlight of the day was experiencing what life was like as they took in the sights and sounds of the medieval fair.
There were lots of activities such as court jesters, birds of prey, period food, medieval games, and many characters dressed in medieval clothing. The children got to learn archery skills, however the most exciting part of the fair were the jousting knights, who competed against one another on horseback to become the champion.
In the evening the children travelled to Stratford-Upon-Avon and checked into their new hotel in preparation for their second castle visit on Tuesday, this time to Warwick Castle. After check-in they dined in the lovely Rose & Crown restaurant, where they all enjoyed dinner before returning to their hotel rooms for some well deserved rest.
This week, the school bell sounded, traditionally opening the new academic year. The guys went to the first classes, where they showed imagination and told each other about themselves with the help of bright drawings.
