November 11 was the starting day for Cambridge Skolkovo’s International Week. Each class chose a country to study, covering every continent on the globe. There was a huge assortment of activities held throughout the week, such as talks by guest speakers, writing different alphabets, learning new words in other languages, making money, singing songs, reading traditional stories, creating artworks in the style of artists from different countries and even some chopstick practice and vegemite tasting! A travel poster/ brochure designing competition produced some excellent entries and it was very hard to select winners.
On Friday, everyone demonstrated their learning by presenting an item at a special assembly and it was very impressive to see just how much everybody had learned! We also dressed in the colours of the flag of each country and it was fantastic to see that every student in the school chose to dress up; it made the assembly very colourful! Well done to the teachers and students who made such an effort and thanks to Miss Natalie and Miss Kathleen for organizing the week.
This week, the school bell sounded, traditionally opening the new academic year. The guys went to the first classes, where they showed imagination and told each other about themselves with the help of bright drawings.
