From the Headteacher Early Years

It has been a bit busy lately in Early Years; Mothers’ Day, Maths Day, the Year 2s educational visit to the Cosmonaut museum, and so much more.

Parents should note that we will be having tests during the week commencing 4th December. These tests are to help the teachers assess children’s current levels progress and help them to set targets for the New Year. Teachers will discuss these with you at the Parent Teacher meeting in January. Importantly, in line with best International Practice and research, the results will not be published openly.

Parents are reminded that attendance is compulsory at school. Encouraging regular school attendance is one of the most powerful ways you can prepare your child for success, both at school and in life. When you make school attendance a priority, you help your child get better grades, develop healthy life habits, and avoid inappropriate behaviours.  Research suggests that when children are absent for as little as two days of school per month on average, even when the absences are excused, it can have a negative impact. These absences affect children as early as Kindergarten.

Congratulations to all our students who have been practising and practising for the Christmas Show. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible, for what should be a great Christmas show on 14-15th December
