The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas is an adventure book published in 1844. In this book, Edmund Dantes is a good sailor who is getting promoted to a sea captain. Unfortunately, some of his enemies plot against him. Edmund is falsely imprisoned and after escaping, he begins to take revenge.
I like this book because it is interesting and has a good ending. It builds anticipation throughout the first and second part and I was waiting for Edmund to tell his enemies that he is still alive and not in jail. The book had lots of adventures and exciting parts that make it fun to read.
The original book will be very difficult to read if you are not a native English speaker. I recommend reading it as an adapted reader if the book is too difficult because it is a good story.
