During the Russian Week, students of the Year 1 classes got acquainted with Russian folk tales. We watched the puppet shows "Turnip" and "Little Red Riding Hood". We especially paid attention to the characters and the morality of fairy tales. Children participated in a collective discussion of how the characters looked and behaved, where the action took place and what unusual happened, after which we summed up what morality children learned from fairy tales. We also had a joint reading with students from Year 3.
During Maths lessons the students learned how to fo addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Children played educational games and made projects in groups, which contributed to the development of communication skills, and then analyzed the results of each other's work.
