Cambridge Teacher, English Language

Mr Jeff

Country:

England

Education:

Greenwich, Bromley Schools Collegiate

Work experience:
I have been teaching for 17 years. Most of my teaching career has been spent in England, but I have also worked in China and Russia.

What makes you a good teacher?
I became a teacher because I fondly remember those educators who managed to instil in me a love of learning. Language and literature are fascinating subjects! The key is for the teacher to choose the right texts. I have worked in a variety of schools: state, private, and for children with autism. These diverse experiences have helped me become a better teacher and realise that people have far more in common than differences. I have also worked as an English language examiner and now share that experience with my students. Learners appreciate teachers who help them feel successful!

Professional achievements:
BA English; QTS; DipTESOL; Diploma in Teaching Learners with Dyslexia, Specific Learning Differences and Barriers to Literacy (Distance); SCEP UCL

Personal achievements:
I am most proud of my family.

Lifestyle:
I play guitar, I like reading, and going on long walks. As far as memorable travelling experiences go, I was fortunate enough to see Lübeck in the snow.

Dreams & Ambitions:
My ambition is to learn some Russian :)
