This February, we held a Spring Festival on the Skolkovo campus, also known as Chinese New Year. Recently, this holiday was awarded the status of a World Heritage Site, which reinforced its importance as a global cultural event.
The guest list was stellar! The Minister of the Chinese Embassy in Moscow, Chinese diplomats and representatives of Chinese students studying in Russia attended the celebration. The teachers of the Confucius Center also contributed to this remarkable event.
Young Chinese artists joined together on stage to give us a cultural celebration full of creativity and warmth. Sichuan opera, martial arts performances, musical and song performances — all this told the audience in vivid colors about the richness of Chinese culture.
After the enchanting show, the students took part in workshops on calligraphy, drawing and paper cutting. Games were also organized: holding beans with chopsticks and throwing pots. The popular game "Black Myth: Wukong" was prepared for children aged 3-7.
Our students shared the following impressions:
"I really enjoyed the event, because after the concert I could participate in a master class on drawing hieroglyphs. We were taught how to hold a brush properly. It turns out it's not like a pen!" Tina, Year 5.
"I took part in a competition where we picked seeds and beans with Chinese chopsticks. The one who did the best was given gifts. I have received many awards: a panda toy, notebooks with Chinese writing, and a pendant in the form of a Chinese flashlight " Dasha, Year 5
"I liked the traditional Chinese dish. I don't remember the exact name, but I would describe it as strawberry dumplings. During the show, several people performed with daggers and swords. I was very impressed!" Leo, Year 5
"I learned what Chinese dances, instruments and martial arts look like. I also enjoyed the master class with hieroglyphs. I've been studying Chinese for two years now. I was glad to feel that I understood something from the speech of our Chinese guests!" Mira, Year 6.
