I have been a teacher now for 14 years and have worked in varying schools in the United Kingdom, Ecuador and Russia. These schools have ranged from teaching children with no level of English to Native speakers.

What makes you a good teacher?

They say that you will always remember at least one inspiring teacher from your time in school, and I still remember my first teacher, how nurturing and full of energy she was. This is one of the reasons I came to become a teacher of Early Years myself, alongside my creativity and need to be constantly moving myself! I gain great pride myself when my students do well, try to bring a fun outlook on teaching different subjects, using as many materials as possible and using them in new ways. I plan around the children and take an individual approach, making sure every child has an equal opportunity to learn to the best of their abilities.

Achievements:

Seeing my students succeed, from the daily small achievements to the big ones and celebrating those achievements.

Lifestyle:

Spending time with family, swimming, travelling, Art. Most memorable experience: working and living in the Galápagos Islands.

MUN: International debate in Korea

Ioana, our Romanian Year 12 student at CIS Skolkovo, got a unique opportunity this year to go to Korea for MUN (Model United Nations), a large—scale event where guys from different countries play the role of UN delegates and strive to solve acute social problems. This conference is hosted by Yale University and is needed to awaken civic engagement in schoolchildren from all over the world. After all, the future of the planet belongs to the younger generation!
