Over 20 years of teaching experience in the UK and internationally, including schools and universities in the UK, South Korea and Russia.

What makes you a good teacher?

I chose teaching after being inspired by an amazing Geography teacher at school. This led me to study Geography at university and then train as a teacher in the UK. I have been teaching since I was 23 and try to inspire students by sharing my enthusiasm, experiences and making lessons relevant to the real world. Having lived and taught abroad for many years, as well as travelled extensively, I find it easy to connect with students from different cultures and backgrounds.

Professional achievements:

Progressing into leadership roles throughout my career, including Head of Department, Subject Head and Academic Coordinator, while building over 20 years of international teaching experience.

Personal achievements:

Travelling to 54 countries and experiencing cultures from around the world, playing semi-professional football in England, and, most recently and proudly, becoming a father.

Lifestyle:

I have always been passionate about sport, particularly football and running, and have completed eight marathons while living in Russia. One of my most memorable recent experiences was travelling through Europe with my wife and young daughter, visiting several countries together and introducing her to new places and cultures for the first time.

Dreams & Ambitions:

To continue developing as a teacher, experience more of the world with my family, and give my daughter the same opportunities to travel, learn about different cultures and develop an international outlook.
