Featured Teacher – Ms Wendy Taylor

Wendy joined CIS in 2016, following on from her role as Assistant Head at Dulwich College Suzhou, China. Previous to that she worked at St Michael’s International School, Kobe, Japan for 5 years. She has also had the opportunity to teach in America, where she was selected to participate in the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship Programme. Wendy believes that it was this opportunity that inspired her to work internationally.

Wendy began her teaching career in a small primary school in Leeds, England. Having worked closely with inspiring teachers, she soon realised that her vocation in life was to become an educator. She gained her BA Honours degree in Childhood and Education studies, shortly followed by a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.

For Wendy, teaching provides an opportunity for continued growth and learning. Her role as a teacher is to give students’ practical tools that are aimed at enhancing students’ confidence and capacity as learners, both within the school and beyond. One of her hopes as an educator is to instil a love of learning in all her students, as she shares her own passion for learning with them. Wendy believes that in our competitive society it is important for students to not only receive a solid education but to learn with someone who is aware of and sensitive to their individual needs. Wendy is such a person and will always strive to be the best educator that she can be.

Wendy has travelled the world with her husband Brent. They both enjoy experiencing new cultures and are excited to explore more of Russia.
