In our second assembly we paid tribute World Smile Day. It is celebrated every year on the first Friday in October. As is well known by now throughout the world Harvey Ball, a commercial artist from Worcester, Massachusetts created the smiley face in 1963. That image went on to become the most recognizable symbol of good will and good cheer on the planet.
On this Friday we also wore happy faces on our clothes. In the morning we met, greeted each other and communicated with a smile. Our Nursery group was trying to cheer everyone up with the soap-bubbles, Reception put on their bright head-dresses and Year 1 performed a joyful song.
