This term in 6D, our Science topic as been Forces. We have been learning about forces, motion and air-resistance and have been investigating how surface area affects air-resistance.
For our investigation, we spent a lesson planning and constructing parachutes that could be used to test air resistance. We decided to put this to the test by attaching eggs to our parachutes.
The test itself was a lot of fun. We tested whether the egg would land safely and who could use air resistance with the most effectiveness to make the egg travel from the starting point.
We found that the key to success in this lesson was to balance a large surface area with minimal weight. We enjoyed learning about forces and investigating how we could use air-resistance to slow down the pull of gravity.
We invite you to beautiful Meshchersky Park to take part in the Cambridge Mile 2024 on 31th May!
