I moved to Moscow for one year in 2011 and, as the end of 2018 approaches, I am somehow still here! There's obviously something about the country that is working for me - I even enjoyed two years of living in Siberia! But in all seriousness, I really do enjoy living in this amazing country, and in particular Saint Petersburg - I feel privileged to work and reside in the most beautiful city I have ever visited. The contrast between summer and winter is spectacular - the place literally becomes two different cities. The short days of winter can be a drag, but the astonishing 'white nights' of summer more than compensate - there is something wonderfully surreal about being outside at 1am and watch the sun rising!
This week, the school bell sounded, traditionally opening the new academic year. The guys went to the first classes, where they showed imagination and told each other about themselves with the help of bright drawings.
